Overview

Discover with us the incredible tour we have for you for 8 days that will take you as a starting point to the desert south of Lima, Paracas with incredible views and diversity of marine species and as a final destination enjoy the Floating Islands of Uros in Puno.

Starting our tour we will visit Paracas, home to one of the largest and most incredible national reserves in the world. We will then transfer to Cusco where we will enjoy a guided tour of the city. Cusco is the centre of Inca history and is home to some of the most important ruins. Exploring them with a member of the Machu Picchu team will help you bring this period of history to life. Visit the beautiful cathedral in the main square, the Temple of the Sun and then head to the city limits to visit the 4 main Inca ruins, including Sacsayhuaman. From here you will also see some of the most beautiful views of Cusco, so don’t forget your camera.

On the third day you will enjoy a guided tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First you will visit Pisac, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. At noon you will enjoy the best of the new Cusquenian cuisine in one of the most exclusive restaurants in the Sacred Valley, and then you will be ready for the next tour to Machu Picchu.

For the next 3 days you will enjoy the most popular attractions of the city of Cusco with one of the 7 Wonders of the World: the citadel of Machu Picchu, the Rainbow Mountain and the Humantay Lagoon.

For our last 2 days of visit, we will travel to Puno with archaeological, natural and cultural sites such as Sillustani, a place that was a cemetery where you can see tombs that are from the Kolla Culture, these tombs are called Chullpas which are shaped like inverted cones. We can also visit the Floating Islands of Uros, which still maintains its own culture and tradition, as well as the artisanal fishing, especially (CARACHI) and the pejerrey.

Itinerary

Day 1Paracas Full Day

We’ll leave for our three-hour coach journey to the southern deserts of Peru after an early breakfast. At Paracas National Park, we’ll set out on the water to see amazing marine life. After that, we’ll check into our hotel on the bay and go to lunch at a local restaurant in Paracas. You will have leisure in the afternoon to go for a walk before having supper at dusk.

Day 2City tour Cusco

Flight from Lima to Cusco and a city tour are included. Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco to start your city tour. The great cathedral in the Plaza de Armas will be our first stop. Here, you can view a broad variety of artwork from the Cusco School of Art, as well as works in gold leaf and embossed silver, and ancient inscriptions. We will next go to the Koricancha, also known as the “Temple of the Sun,” to admire its architecture and exquisite stone structures, which are only seen in important Inca temples. Moving further, we will travel to the city’s outskirts to explore the Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay archaeological circuit. You may visit the remarkable, enormously sized, meticulously carved stones at Sacsayhuaman. You may find out more at Q’enqo on the Inca period religious significance of this archeological site. You can observe an old military structure at Puca Pucara, which was a component of Cusco’s old defense system. At Tambomachay, a temple devoted to the Water Cult with still-working fountains may be found.

Day 3Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Chinchero - Sacred Valley

You will depart Cusco (Qosqo) in the morning to begin your interesting tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. A knowledgeable local guide who is your tour companion will be delighted to address any of your inquiries. Pisac, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, and Chinchero will be your first stops. In one of the Sacred Valley’s most upscale restaurants at noon, you may sample the finest of Cusco’s contemporary cuisine.

You will first take a tour of Pisac, stopping briefly at a market for regional crafts. You’ll find an incredible selection of handcrafted things there. You will next go to the ancient Pisaq Archeological Center, which is situated on the mountain above the town. Andean terraces, irrigation channels, drinking water fountains, dwellings, religious and ceremonial locations, and a cemetery may all be found amid the remains.

After that, you’ll continue to Urubamba along the Vilcanota River. You may have a delectable buffet lunch at one of the best eateries in the whole Valley right here. You will proceed to the Ollantaytambo Archeological Complex after lunch. Find out more about the exquisite Incan masonry from the Imperial Period here. Ollantaytambo is a charming settlement that has the original layout created by the Incan architects. The magnificent Temple of the Sun is one of its most remarkable landmarks. It was necessary to protect the entrance to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which included the Inca Trail to Machupicchu, with this beautiful stronghold.

You will eventually come upon the Chinchero Archeological Center. Visit a weaving display as well; you can meet some local weavers’ families there. They will show how they use natural plant dyes to get such vivid hues.

Day 4Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu

We will take a train to Aguas Calientes from Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley at around 06:15. The entire train ride has stunning landscape, making it a memorable experience. You may get to Aguas Calientes by following the river’s flow through the Sacred Valley; from there, you can take a tour guide up to Machu Picchu. You will learn about the Incas and see all of the citadel’s key locations throughout the tour, which lasts roughly two hours.

You’ll have some free time to independently explore the site after your tour. You can ask your guide for recommendations if there are any places you want to visit that are not included by the trip, such the Inca bridge. You take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes in the late afternoon. From there, you take the train back to Ollantaytambo (which takes about two hours) and continue by bus to Cusco (another 2 hours).

Day 5Rainbow Mountain

Between 4:00 and 4:30 am, we’ll come and pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco. We will then start our tour of the South Valley after that. It will take around three hours to get to the Hanchipacha village, where we will stop for breakfast. Then, after another 15 minutes of driving, we will arrive at the settlement of Quesiuno (4,326 m/14,189 ft), from where we will start the roughly three-hour climb up to Rainbow Mountain (most of the way). We will be able to take in the breathtaking view of llama and alpaca herds, the Ausangate peak, various red mountains, and traditional local homes as we ascend.

Once we get in the Rainbow Mountains (5,020 m/16,466 ft), our final destination, you will have time to explore the region and take pictures. Between thirty and sixty minutes, we’ll be here (depending on hiking speed and weather conditions).

After taking in the beautiful view from the top, we will descend to Quesiuno, where our climb began, which takes approximately two hours. From there, we will take a car to the hamlet of Hanchipacha for lunch.

Day 6Mollepata - Humantay Lake

Early in the morning, your mountain guide will take you up from your lodging (about 4:00 am). Before moving on to Soraypampa, which is situated at 3920 meters above sea level, we will stop for breakfast and energy replenishment in Mollepata. Learn more about the Sky Camp, which is located in front of the stunning, snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay mountains. After a brief rest, we’ll prepare to begin the journey to the trail’s highest point, traversing stunning terrain surrounding by a range of mountains.

You will definitely be astounded by the expansive vista of the turquoise lake situated next to an outstanding glacier at 4200 meters (13779 feet) above sea level.

When we get back to the Sky Camp after that, their staff will have lunch ready for us. Our vehicle will be ready for us to board it at approximately 5 o’clock so we can return to Cusco.

Day 7Puno - Sillustani

You will be met at Juliaca airport, and then transferred to your chosen hotel.

Pick up from your hotel at 2:00 pm. Start in the Archaeological Complex of Sillustani, place located 34 km from the city of Puno in the peninsula of the Umayo lagoon, Quechua word that means head of the river, in this place is the archaeological site of Sillustani. This place was a cemetery where you can see tombs that belong to the Kolla Culture, these tombs are called Chullpas that have the shape of inverted cones. Opportunity to enjoy the landscape and an excellent view of the Umayo lagoon, the tour inside the complex is 1:30 hrs, then visit some handicrafts to take a souvenir of the charming place, return to the hotel at 17:30 hrs. Overnight.

Day 8Uros Taquile

At 6:45 a.m., we will depart from your hotel. to get to the pier or main port using a private vehicle. We set out for the Uros floating islands, which are presently thought of as the National Reserve of Lake Titicaca, around 7:15 in the morning. Also referred to be the world’s highest navigable lake. You will be able to take in a stunning panoramic, natural vista while traveling. You will learn about the Uros floating islands from our knowledgeable guide. The Uros continue to practice their unique culture, tradition, and artisanal fishing, particularly for pejerrey and (CARACHI). When fish are easy to catch, people preserve them by drying them out in the sun. They also gather duck eggs and hunt wild birds. After a long and lovely visit to the 115 islands that are still inhabited today, each of which is carefully organized, you will bid the Uros farewell. To continue, we will go by boat for an additional two and a half hours to the natural island of Taquile. While en route, you will be able to see the chain of mountains (the genuine mountain range), in addition to the cooperative and well-organized Taquilean inhabitants. Because of this, the Taquileos have proven their high level of innovation in the textile industry and have been recognized by UNESCO.

Women just use yarns and textiles to create things. Modernity hasn’t really changed anything in Taquile’s way of life. The visit will typically last two hours, during which time you will enjoy a great customary meal. If you truly want to support this community, you may do so by purchasing some of their handicrafts. In order for this community to be able to sustain itself and continue to exist, they must have some means of sustainability. Finally, our guide will let them know when to expect to return, which will arrive in the city of Puno at 17:00 in the afternoon.

Transfer to the bus station or the airport when you return to Puno at the scheduled time.

Best curated tour of Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley - at an extremely competitive price. Elizabeth at Adventure Cusco curated a beautiful trip of Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu for us. The team ant Adventure Cusco arranged the best travel options and tour guides, for an extremely competitive price. I would highly recommend Adventure Cusco. Their service providers are extremely helpful, reliant and accommodating of all needs. We had the best time at Machu Picchu, all because of a private tour arranged by the team. Their tour guide Edwin at Machu Picchu is extremely knowledgeable, funny and patient. He knows the best spots for Instagram and literally takes the best pictures. The ATV tour at Sacred Valley was organised so well. I would do the entire trip again because it was organised so well and was so much fun. Go with these guys. I can vouch for them. I have spoken to some 7-8 friends who have visited Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley. None of them were able to do it in such an affordable price, especially with high quality travel options and tour guides.

Machu Picchu, Valle Sagrado VIP We had an amazing experience with Adventure Cusco. They were in charge of our entire itinerary from airport transfers to each tour. They adjust to perfection to our needs and interest and exceed our expectations. We visit Machu Picchu by the Vistadome Observatory train and the views were breathtaking. Our tour guide Alex was just perfect. He knew the site to perfection and it seems we had Machu Picchu to ourselves. On top of that he took the most beautiful pictures and knows the best spots for the best pictures. I can’t recommend this company enough. We just relaxed and enjoyed while Elizabeth was in charge of each detail. Make sure to contact them if you are planning your trip to Cusco Peru.
